Central Business District Parking Hours
On-street parking is limited to two hours between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. within the Central Business District.
Parking Meter Pay Stations
Parking meter pay stations are located in designated areas of downtown Troy. The cost of parking on a street with a parking meter pay station is $1.00 per hour. Pay up to 4 hours. Customers must place their paid receipt on the dash board of their vehicles. If you have any questions regarding parking meters contact the City Treasurer's Office at (518) 279-7310.
New Parking Space
Should you wish to pave or otherwise create a parking area, you must contact the Bureau of Code
Enforcement at (518) 279-7180 for information and procedures.
Handicap Parking Permit
Handicap parking hang tags are issued in the City of Troy, Treasurer’s Office between the hours of 8:30-4:30 Monday through Friday (excluding Holidays). Placards are issued to City of Troy Residents only with an approved application (according to the current NYS DMV regulations). For questions, please contact the Treasurer’s Office at 518-279-7115.
Public Parking Lots
During a declared Snow Emergency, residents are encouraged to use public parking lots in their neighborhoods. All residents can utilize the 5th Avenue parking garage and the State Street parking garage, along with the City surface parking areas located at the Little Italy Market lot, the Green Island lot, the 5th Avenue & Congress Street lot, the Knickerbacker Ice Facility, the South Troy Pool and the Frear Park Golf Course. For overnight and weekend parking during a Snow Emergency, residents can utilize the 4th Street lot which is between Ferry and Congress, and the Y-Lot which is 1st Street between River and State Street.
