Mayor Madden Issues Update on Conclusion of Snow Emergency
TROY, NY – Mayor Patrick Madden today announced that the City of Troy’s declared Snow Emergency will end at 8:00pm, Friday, March 17. Parking restrictions on designated Snow Emergency streets will be lifted at that time.
“The severe winter weather which impacted Troy this week posed a major challenge for our city, particularly our crews tasked with keeping our streets safe and clear throughout the storm and its aftermath,” said Mayor Patrick Madden. “I am thrilled with the response of our Department of Public Works and Public Utilities teams and applaud the efforts of all involved in the largest snow removal operation conducted in our city’s recent history.
“Additionally, I would like to express our appreciation to Governor Cuomo, Rensselaer County Executive Kathy Jimino, and the New York State Department of Transportation for their rapid response and deployment of additional equipment and resources to assist our city during Snow Emergency cleanup. Thanks to the quick response and cooperation between various local and state agencies, our community was able to clear roadways effectively and efficiently across the city and restore streets to normal for residents and local businesses.
Finally, thank you to our residents for your patience during this week. We ask for your continued assistance and cooperation as cleanup operations continue throughout the Collar City in the coming days.”
Beginning 8:00am, Saturday, March 18, city crews will conduct additional snow removal operations on 4th Street between Ferry Street and Van Buren Street. Additional citywide roadway cleanup and pushback operations will continue next week. Residents are asked to please observe all normal street postings or additional posted parking restrictions.
