City Announces Online Presentation of Planning Study Recommendations for the Hillside North & South Neighborhoods

TROY, NY – City officials have announced an online presentation to present recommendations to connect Hillside North and South neighborhoods to Hoosick Street, downtown and the waterfront. Residents of the Hillside neighborhoods are encouraged to “join at their own pace” to review the presentation and provide their input to help improve the neighborhoods.

The community has an opportunity to view the presentation and comment online at their own pace during the following online public review period:

The presentation discusses a wide range of recommendations designed to create connections within the neighborhoods, including traffic calming, streetscape improvements, reconfiguration of Hoosick Street, new pedestrian and bicycle connections, and improved connections between Hillside North and Downtown. One recommendation addresses the potential creation of an active park space under Collage City Bridge with a multi-use path between 8th Street and River Street.

Mayor Madden said, “This important study presents a series of proposals to better connect Hillside residents and families with local downtown businesses, parks, and our newly revitalized Hudson River waterfront through a variety of transportation options. Public feedback is critical to shaping the future of our community, and I encourage residents to log on and weigh in on improvements to Hoosick Street and the Hillside North and South neighborhoods.”

More information about the Hoosick-Hillside Study and the online presentation will be posted on the events page of the Hoosick-Hillside Study website at: www.hoosick-hillside-study.com/events
