TROY, NY – City officials have announced a public meeting to discuss the status of rehabilitation of the Mt. Ida Lake Dam. The meeting will be held at 6:00pm, Tuesday, October 30, at the Troy Masonic Community Center, located at 39 Brunswick Road, Troy.

A recent engineering review found changes in the structural condition of the Mt. Ida Dam. As a result, the City will initiate a controlled deconstruction of a portion of the dam to alleviate immediate structural concerns. This will result in the Poesten Kill creek water level being lowered to the naturally occurring water flows. Belden Pond (a.k.a. Ida Lake) will also experience reductions in water level as a result of the expected work.

Participants will receive an update on the structural condition and status of rehabilitation of the dam, and the impact of planned water level reductions to the Poesten Kill creek north of the existing dam.

Parking will be available in the large lot located on the eastern side of the Troy Masonic Community Center. Accessible parking is available on the western side of the building.
