City of Troy Announces 2016 Fall Clean-Up Schedule and Weekend Disposal Services
TROY, NY – City officials have released the fall clean-up schedule for the city’s Alamo facility, located on Main Street next to the Rensselaer County Jail. The Alamo will be open on Saturday, November 5, 12, and 19 from 7:30 a.m. until noon for Troy residents to dispose of bagged leaves and brush. This service will be available to city residents with identification and proof of residency. Regular garbage, recycling or hazardous waste materials will not be accepted at the Alamo. Troy residents may dispose of yard waste, tires (cost of $3 per tire) and bulk trash (furniture, carpets, etc.).
In addition to the weekend disposal schedule, the Department of Public Works will offer free curbside leaf-pickup service during the month of November which will coincide with normal residential garbage collection. Residents are asked to place leaves, brush and branches in a biodegradable bag for easier collection.
Please contact the City of Troy Department of Public Works at (518) 270-4579 with any additional questions regarding this year’s Fall Cleanup procedures.
