City of Troy to Provide Neighborhood Cooling Stations on Sunday, Monday

City of Troy to Provide Neighborhood Cooling Stations on Sunday, Monday

TROY, NY – Ahead of expected warmer weather across the the Capital Region, city officials have announced the City of Troy will provide cooling stations in neighborhoods beginning Sunday through Monday. Residents can beat the heat at four cooling stations established by the Troy Fire Department (weather permitting) on Sunday, July 15, from 12:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., and Monday, July 16, from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the following locations:

Lansingburgh
120th Street Park
(120th Street and 1st Ave.)
Little Italy
Little Italy Market Place
(5th Avenue, Liberty and Hill Streets)
North Central
7th Ave Park
(Ingalls Avenue and 7th Ave.)
South Troy
Canal Street Park
(3rd Street and Canal Ave.)

Additionally, splash pads are open to the public at various city parks, including: Frear Park, Prospect Park, Knickerbacker Park and Riverfront Park. The Troy Housing Authority will be allowing residents to access to their six Splash Pad Play Areas located at Phelan Court, Fallon Apartments, Griswold Heights, Martin Luther King Apartments, the Taylor Apartments and Corliss Park.
