Troy Officials Announce Holiday Closures, Garbage & Recycling Collection Schedule

TROY, NY – City officials have announced City Hall will be closed on Tuesday, December 25th, in observation of the Christmas holiday and will reopen on Wednesday, December 26th, at 8:30 a.m. City Hall will also be closed on Tuesday, January 1, 2019, in observation of New Year’s Day.

The holiday schedule for City garbage and recycling collection is as follows:

  • Tuesday, December 25th – garbage and recycling collection is postponed
  • Tuesday, January 1st – garbage and recycling collection is postponed

Residents who normally receive Tuesday morning pickup should place their garbage and recycling curbside Tuesday evening for Wednesday collection following both holidays. Any garbage & recycling not collected on Wednesday will be collected on Thursday. No bulk pickup will be available on December 25th and 26th, and January 1st and 2nd.

Mayor Madden is reminding Troy residents to keep sidewalks adjacent to their property free of obstacles when placing garbage and recycling bins out for collection. Please help keep our community accessible to people of all ages and abilities.
