Welcome to the Bureau of Vital Statistics
The Registrar of Vital Statistics is responsible for
the filing of all births
and deaths
that occur in the City of Troy. Vital Records are maintained
according to the requirements of the New York State
Health Department. The Registrar's office also issues
qualified applicants with certified copies of the certificates
associated with these events. Uncertified copies of
older certificates are available for genealogy
research.
The Registrar and staff provide a valuable service
to the public. In addition to birth and death certificates,
staff provide assistance with corrections, acknowledgements
of paternity, burial and disposition permits.
The office is located in Troy City Hall at 1776 Sixth Avenue in downtown Troy. Office hours
are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday excluding
holidays. The telephone number is (518) 270-4587. Feel
free to contact us with any questions.
