COVID-19 Update: Metered parking in downtown Troy will resume on January 4, 2021. All normal parking regulations remain in effect.
With a mix of on-street and off-street parking options, visitors looking to explore historic downtown Troy have plenty of ways to park close to their destination.
What You Need to Know
Meters are active Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. On-street parking is limited to 4 hours within the Central Business District.
Nights, Weekends and City Holidays
On weeknights, weekends and holidays you can park for free downtown. All city-operated parking lots and garages are also free on weekends, or after 6:00pm on weekdays (M-F). All other parking regulations are still enforced.

Paying to Park at a Metered Spot
On-street metered parking is available throughout downtown Troy using the Passport Parking mobile app. The app provides a simple, easy to use option for drivers to pay for parking using their smartphone device.
The Passport Parking app can be downloaded for free on the App Store, Google Play, or online at www.passportparking.com
Please note: existing parking kiosks will still accept cash and credit card payments. Customers who utilize the kiosks must place their paid receipt on the dash board of their vehicle.
Parking Meter Costs
The cost of parking in a metered parking spot is $1.00 per hour.
Snow Emergency Parking
During a declared Snow Emergency, parking restrictions will be in effect for designated city streets. Residents and visitors are encouraged to use public lots and garages for overnight parking.

Parking Permit for Persons with Disabilities
Accessible parking permits are issued by the City Treasurer’s office
between the hours of 8:30 am – 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday (excluding holidays). Mirror hang tags are issued in accordance with NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law and NYS Department of Motor Vehicle regulations. For questions, please contact the Treasurer’s Office at (518) 279-7115.

Long Term Parking
Long term (daily or monthly) parking is available to permit holders in City lots and garages. The parking rate is $8 per day or $75 per month.
