Below you will find positions
available and exam
announcements for
employment with the City of Troy,
the Troy
Housing Authority, and
the Troy School District. Most of the
positions with the City of Troy require applicants to
take a Civil Service
exam. Some positions
do not require an examination, or will be filled provisionally,
i.e. pending the outcome of the next scheduled examination
for that title.
The
application form is used for both employment
and exams. Please feel free to print the form,
complete it,
and mail it to the
Personnel Office (original signatures only - no
copies).
A basic Civil
Service practice exam is available online to those with
an Upper Hudson library card, or an affiliated library.
To access Learn-A-Test online, visit the Upper
Hudson Database web site and choose "Learn-A-Test".

| School Traffic Officer-

Salary
- $7.15 per hour
The
City of Troy Police Department is accepting applications
for candidates to serve as School Traffic Officer.
Hours of employment are when pupils are entering
and leaving school. The School Traffic Officer
has responsibility for the exercise of considerable
vigilance in directing traffic to ensure the safety
of children going to and from school.
Duties include:
- Direct traffic at crosswalks near school
- Assist children crossing street
- Slow down traffic in school zone
- Instruct younger children concerning proper
place and precautions to be taken when crossing
the street

| Temporary and Seasonal
Positions |
Temporary
and seasonal positions including Laborers, Lifeguards,
and Park, Pool and Golf Course Workers.
The
City is now accepting applications for anticipated
temporary and seasonal positions in the Recreation
Department as well as Public Works and Public
Utilities. Depending on the title and location,
the duties may include, but not be limited to:
lifeguard duties at City pools, building and grounds
maintenance, park and golf course maintenance,
paving, securing and stabilizing vacant buildings,
repair and maintenance of water and sewer lines.
Lifeguards must be 16 years old. The minimum age
for most of the other positions is 18 years old.
16 and 17 year olds with working papers will be
considered for some of the positions.
Anyone
interested in applying for these positions should
apply in person to the Personnel Office on the
second floor of Troy City Hall.
