Download Job Description
The City of Troy is seeking candidates for the position of Computer Network Manager. The successful candidate will have primary technical responsibility for monitoring, operating, configuring & debugging the technology network.
A successful candidate will be responsible for the configuration, setup, installation, development & maint of the network. The incumbent maintains the overall networking plan including the LAN & the WAN & Internet connectivity, & develops networking strategies including addressing assignments, routing & bridging, monitoring firewall &/or security systems, & specifying & maintaining records of network configuration.
Minimum qualifications: Graduation from a regionally accredited or NYS registered college or university with an Associate’s Degree in Computer Science or related field & 3 years computer experience, 1 year of which includes LAN or WAN experience (OR), graduation from high school or possession of a GED & 5 years of computer experience, 1 year of which shall have included LAN or WAN experience. Possession of a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree may be used in place of experience on a one for one basis.
The candidate must pass & be reachable on a civil service examination administered by NYS Civil Service. Preference will be given to candidates who either reside in, or are willing to relocate to the City of Troy.

| School Traffic Officer-

Salary
- $7.25 per hour
The
City of Troy Police Department is accepting applications
for candidates to serve as School Traffic Officer.
Hours of employment are when pupils are entering
and leaving school. The School Traffic Officer
has responsibility for the exercise of considerable
vigilance in directing traffic to ensure the safety
of children going to and from school.
Duties include:
- Direct traffic at crosswalks near school
- Assist children crossing street
- Slow down traffic in school zone
- Instruct younger children concerning proper
place and precautions to be taken when crossing
the street
