Welcome to the Proposal Property Sale for 2010. There are a 110 properties for which the City of Troy will be accepting sealed proposals starting November 1, 2010 thru November 30, 2010 until 3:30pm.
If you are interested in any of these properties, please refer to the downloadable information below. These documents are also available at the City Assessors Office located in City Hall at 1776 Sixth Avenue.

Proposal Information
PROPOSALS MUST BE SUBMITTED TO THIS OFFICE BY November 30, 2010 (3:30) Deadline
The City Council approves all awarded Proposals and reserves the right to reject same.
All information must be submitted in a plain sealed envelope. Each property proposal application must be submitted in a separate envelope marked PROPOSAL, PROPERTY LOCATION and SERIES #.
All sealed proposals must include the following:
- A proposed purchase price
- 10 % of purchase price (only certified check, Bank check or money order will be accepted as down payments. Make check payable to:
‘City of Troy’) NOTE: CASH NOT ACCEPTED
- $35 Application Fee (Not Refundable)
Upon Council approval, the successful bidder will be notified via mail. Included will be a breakdown, total amount due, and the date when total is due. The successful bidder must pay the following within (30 days) of Council approval.
- Balance of the purchase price
- Assessor Fee $300
- Closing Attorney Fee $400
- Administrative Fee ($300 or 15% of the purchase price, whichever is higher)
- Pro-rated payment for City, County and School taxes (based on the City’s assessment prior to the sale, and pro-rated from the time of purchase until the first tax bill which would go to the purchaser).
- At the time of closing, all recording fees will be collected (only certified check, Bank check or money orders will be accepted, payable to the ‘Rensselaer County Clerk’) NOTE: CASH NOT ACCEPTED
Unsuccessful bidders will be notified via mail of the decision of the City Council and will receive a refund of deposit less the $35 Application fee.
