Madden: Mayoral transition team concludes operations
TROY, NY – Mayor Patrick Madden today announced the conclusion of formal activities by his Mayoral transition team. The team, which was announced following Mayor Madden’s election in November of 2015, was led by Wally Altes, Lisa Henderson and James Spencer.
“The guidance and insight provided by members of the Mayoral transition team was invaluable in preparing my administration to hit the ground running on day one,” said Mayor Patrick Madden. “As we continue to tackle the challenges facing our city, I am confident that the hard work and dedication of the transition team has laid the groundwork for realizing Troy’s potential as a great 21st century city.”
Since the formation of Mayor Madden’s transition team, a number of initiatives were established, including:
- Organization of a Budget & Financial Advisory Committee, consisting of five members with experience in government, business and project development, to provide ongoing guidance on fiscal challenges facing the City of Troy.
- Formation of an Authorities Review Committee, headed by acting Deputy Mayor Monica Kurzejeski, to make recommendations on how best to utilize authorities to enhance the tax base and improve the quality of life for residents.
- Departmental team-building activities to improve communications between individual department heads and identify solutions to challenges affecting city operations.
