Statement from Mayor Madden on Conclusion of City-Owned Property Open House Event
TROY, NY – Mayor Patrick Madden issued the following statement regarding the conclusion of the City of Troy’s foreclosed property open house event which occurred on Thursday, July 27:
“With nearly 270 public visits to the ten selected city-owned properties, we are pleased to see the level of community participation and interest in Thursday’s citywide open house event which far exceeded expectations.
“By opening the doors of these buildings to the public we succeeded in not only showcasing available opportunities for investment and homeownership in the City of Troy but also in fostering continued conversation around the issue of vacancy and the importance of efforts to combat the influence of blight on our neighborhoods.”
The City of Troy is currently accepting bid proposals on available foreclosed properties and lots from July 1 until Friday, August 4, 2017. Proposals must be delivered to the Office of the City Assessor, 433 River Street, Ste. 5001, Troy New York 12180 by 4:30 p.m., Friday, August 4. Following the proposal review process, recommended sale proposals will be transmitted to the Troy City Council for final approval during their September 7, 2017 meeting.
