MEDIA ADVISORY | Troy Police Department to Promote Assistant Chief, Captain
TROY, NY – On Tuesday, October 2, the Troy Police Department will hold a promotion ceremony at Troy City Hall, located at 433 River Street, Suite 5001. The event is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m.
Captain to Assistant Chief: Christopher Kehn
Christopher Kehn is a twenty-year veteran of the Troy Police Department. Born and raised in Troy, Captain Kehn graduated from Lansingburgh High School, and earned a bachelor’s degree in secondary education from SUNY Oneonta. He worked as a Patrolman, Evidence Technician, Patrol Sergeant, Detective Sergeant, Patrol Captain, and most recently Training Captain. He has been a member of the Emergency Response Team, Field Training Officer, Firearms Instructor, Police Academy Instructor, and member of the Police Academy’s Advisory Board. Prior to joining the Troy Police Department, Kehn was a teacher in the Lansingburgh School District after which he joined the Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office as a Corrections Officer. Kehn is married to wife Virginia and has two daughters, Sara and Emily.
Sergeant to Captain: Adam Mason
Sergeant Adam R. Mason has served with the Troy Police Department for 21 years. Born and raised in Troy, Mason spent the early part of his career as a Patrol Officer and Evidence Technician with the Patrol Division. Mason was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 2008, served briefly as a Patrol Sergeant, and has been assigned as a member of the Detective Bureau since 2010. During his tenure in the Detective Bureau, Mason has supervised the Evidence Technician Unit and also served as a member of the FBI-Albany Joint Terrorism Task Force. Mason is a proud recipient of the Chief John J. Givney Award as well as various Unit and Division citations. Mason has been married to his wife, Kristi, for 18 years and they have two children, Morgan and Damon.
