TROY, NY – On Friday, April 27, Mayor Patrick Madden and City Planning & Economic Development officials visited HJM Precision, a design, manufacture and supply company of precision measurement instruments located in Troy’s historic Lansingburgh neighborhood. Operating in the Collar City for nearly four decades, HJM Precision provides a variety of design & build services of specialized equipment for use in various applications – including automotive, aerospace, and medical industries – as well as sales and service of measurement devices.

Mayor Madden, Planning Commissioner Steven Strichman, and Economic Development Coordinator Cheryl Kennedy toured HJM’s 30,000 sf manufacturing and distribution facility – including the company’s internationally accredited calibration lab – with owners James and Michael Magee. The company has expanded significantly during the last decade, necessitating the construction of a 12,000 sf addition to their New Turnpike Road facility following the purchase of level manufacturer Geier & Bluhm in 2007.

The visit to HJM Precision was part of the administration’s ongoing efforts to support local small businesses and entrepreneurs, highlight their importance to neighborhoods across Troy, and connect them with assistance and services available through the City’s Office of Economic Development.
