TROY, NY – On Friday, May 5, Mayor Patrick Madden visited the headquarters of local business GreyCastle Security. Established in Troy in 2011, GreyCastle Security provides consulting services for clients throughout North America and abroad on digital security and management of cybersecurity risks, one of the fastest growing industries worldwide. The visit coincided with National Small Business Week (April 30 – May 6), a nationwide celebration of small business owners and entrepreneurs across the country in recognition of their role in creating local jobs and supporting the local and regional economy.
Mayor Madden was joined by NYS Assemblyman John McDonald, Steven Strichman, Troy Commissioner of Planning and Community Development, Cheryl Kennedy, Troy Economic Development Coordinator, Kate Ollier, President of the Rensselaer County Regional Chamber of Commerce, and Katie Hammon, Executive Director of the Downtown Troy Business Improvement District during the visit to GreyCastle Security’s newly-renovated 10,000 sf office space and headquarters on Federal Street in downtown Troy with Chief Business Development Officer and cofounder Michael Stamas. The company has been recognized with various awards and accolades, including the Cybersecurity Excellence Award for Cybersecurity Consultant of the Year for North America. The Albany Business Review designated GreyCastle Security as one of the Capital Region’s best places to work in 2015 and 2016.
