Photos: Troy Police Department appoints new officers

TROY, NY – City officials joined members of the Troy Police Department to celebrate the appointment of two officers during a ceremony at Troy City Hall on Thursday, May 3. Mayor Patrick Madden joined Police Chief Brian Owens and members of the department to swear-in officers Colin Winters and Edwin Thompson.

Officer Winters attended Lansingburgh High School, and is a graduate of Hudson Valley Community College. He was previously a police officer in Hoosick Falls and, most recently, Mechanicville. Officer Thompson attended Troy High School, Hudson Valley Community College, and Bryant & Stratton College. He previously worked for the Transportation Security Administration, New York State Department of Corrections, and most recently the Rensselaer Police Department.
