FEIS available for review

At the meeting of the City of Troy Planning Board on July 12, 2007 in the Second Floor Conference Room of City Hall, the Board voted to accept the Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) for the proposed East Campus Athletic Village as complete and begin the public review and comment period.

The FEIS is a draft document evaluating the potential significant adverse environmental impacts of the proposed RPI East Campus Athletic Village.

The village is a master plan designed to accommodate the needs of athletics, intramural sports and recreational activities at Rensselaer for 20 years forward. The proposed new facilities, including a football stadium, gymnasium, Natatorium, tennis courts, indoor track and ancillary uses, are proposed to be constructed on the area of campus east of Burdett Avenue.

The FEIS will be available for review in the Planning Department in City Hall, in the public library, and on the city website at www.troyny.gov. The document is available to be borrowed for up to two days from the Planning Department. The department is open from 8:30 to 4:30 Monday - Friday. Comments may be mailed to the Planning Department c/o V. Zubkovs, 1 Monument Sq. Troy, NY 12180.

Written comments will be accepted by the Planning Department through Monday, July 23, 2007, 10 days after the public hearing date.
