Troy Officials Announce City Hall Holiday Closure, Thanksgiving Garbage Collection Schedule
TROY, NY – Mayor Patrick Madden today announced that Troy City Hall will be closed on Thursday, November 23, and Friday, November 24, in observation of the Thanksgiving holiday and will reopen on Monday, November 27, at 8:30am.
Additionally, city officials have announced the following modified garbage collection schedule:
Thursday, November 23: garbage & recycling pickup is suspended. No bulk trash pickup will be available.
Friday, November 24: regular garbage & recycling pickup will occur as scheduled. No bulk trash pickup will be available.
Residents who normally receive Thursday garbage and recycling pickup should bring their garbage and recycling to the curb on Thursday evening for collection on Friday, November 24. The normal collection schedule will resume on Monday, November 27.
To assist those with mobility issues including the elderly and individuals with disabilities, Troy residents are reminded to keep sidewalks adjacent to their property free of obstacles when placing garbage and recycling bins out for collection. Additionally, residents should place bagged leaves out for collection during their regular city garbage collection day. Do not pile leaves at the curb or rake into the street; this can clog sewer catch basins and drains which could cause flooding during heavy rain events.
