Municipal garbage & recycling collection postponed for Christmas, New Year’s Day holidays

TROY, NY – City officials have announced City Hall will be closed on Wednesday, December 25, in observation of the Christmas holiday and will reopen on Thursday, December 26, at 8:30 a.m. City Hall will also be closed on Wednesday, January 1, 2020, in observation of New Year’s Day.

City garbage and recycling collection will be postponed on Wednesday, December 25, 2019, and Wednesday, January 1, 2020. Residents who normally receive municipal collection on Wednesday should place their garbage and recycling bins curbside Wednesday evening for Thursday collection. Bulk collection will not be available on either day.

Mayor Madden reminds residents and property owners to keep sidewalks adjacent to their property free of obstacles when placing garbage and recycling bins out for collection. Your cooperation and assistance will help keep our community accessible to people of all ages and abilities.
