Troy Officials Announce Schedule of City Hall Holiday Closures
TROY, NY – City officials have announced that Troy City Hall will be closed on Tuesday, November 7, 2017, in observation of Election Day and will reopen on Wednesday, November 8, at 8:30 a.m. Additionally, City Hall will be closed on Friday, November 10, in observation of Veterans Day and will reopen on Monday, November 13.
The modified garbage collection schedule is as follows:
Tuesday, November 7: garbage & recycling pickup will be suspended. No bulk pickup will be available.
Friday, November 10: regular garbage & recycling pickup will occur as scheduled. No bulk pickup will be available.
Residents who normally receive Tuesday garbage and recycling pickup should bring their garbage and recycling to the curb on Tuesday evening for collection on Wednesday, November 8. Any garbage and recycling not collected on Wednesday, November 8, will be picked up on Thursday, November 9.
To assist those with mobility issues including the elderly and individuals with disabilities, Troy residents are reminded to keep sidewalks adjacent to their property free of obstacles when placing garbage and recycling bins out for collection. Additionally, residents should place bagged leaves out for collection during their regular city garbage collection day. Do not pile leaves at the curb or rake into the street; this can clog sewer catch basins and drains which could cause flooding during heavy rain events.
