Troy Officials Issue Traffic Advisory for Burdett Avenue
TROY, NY – City officials have issued a traffic advisory for Burdett Avenue in the City of Troy, New York due to work associated with a sewer infrastructure project by the Department of Public Utilities. Beginning Tuesday, August 7, Burdett Avenue will be closed to regular vehicle traffic between Hoosick Street and Peoples Avenue from 7:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Work is expected to be completed on Thursday, August 9. The road closure is associated with a previously-announced sewer separation project aimed at reducing combined sewer overflow discharges into the Hudson River and improving water quality.
Motorists are asked to observe all posted traffic detours and seek alternate routes at this time. Local emergency services have been notified of traffic restrictions. Emergency vehicles and local traffic will be permitted on Burdett Avenue. Residents are asked to use caution while traveling through work zones to ensure the safety of workers. The City of Troy thanks everyone for their patience at this time while utility repairs continue on Burdett Avenue.
