Troy Police Announce Arrest in Bank Robbery

October 2, 2019 – Troy Police have issued the following update:

“The Troy Police have made an arrest in the Bank Robbery that occurred on September 13th, 2019 at the Saratoga National Bank located at 120 Hoosick Street, Troy.

“The arrest was made on September 16th, 2019 at around midnight. The defendant Ricardo D. Fernandez 42 years old of 662 2nd Ave. Troy was taken into custody without incident. He was transported to the Central Station and processed and arraigned in Troy City Court on September 17th, 2019. Fernandez was charged with 1 count of Robbery 3rd degree, a felony and remanded to the Rensselaer County Correctional Facility.

“The robbery that occurred at the Key Bank at 123rd and 2nd Avenue on September 18th, 2019 continues to be investigated. There is a suspect in this case and he is being sought at this time. An arrest is expected in this case.

“Both of these cases highlight the exceptional investigatory work of the Troy Police Detective Bureau with the aid of the Patrol Division. Great police work.”
