Troy Police Department Pedestrian and Bicyclist Safety Initiative Continues

Troy Police Department: Pedestrian and Bicyclist Safety Initiative Continues

TROY, NY – The Troy Police Department today announced the next phase of a recent initiative to increase public awareness on pedestrian and bicyclist safety. Beginning Wednesday, July 5, the department’s Traffic Safety Unit will begin issuing Warning Notices to pedestrians, bicyclists, and drivers of vehicles.

The initiative is an effort by the Troy Police Department to reduce crashes involving motor vehicles and pedestrians/bicyclists in conjunction with a statewide mobilization regarding pedestrian and bicyclist safety supporting the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee “See and Be Seen” campaign. The second phase of Troy’s safety initiative will run through Tuesday, July 11.
