The Civil War took place between 1861 and 1865. It
was the culmination of
intense
sectional
conflict
and reflected
deep-seated economic, social, and political differences
between the North and the South. 3 million fought and
by the end of the war over 600,000 died....and
the young country of America was on the
brink of being torn apart. It was the greatest war in
American history and the only war fought on American
soil by Americans.
