Civil War Weekend
June 24, 2006

The Civil War took place between 1861 and 1865. It was the culmination of intense sectional conflict and reflected deep-seated economic, social, and political differences between the North and the South. 3 million fought and by the end of the war over 600,000 died....and the young country of America was on the brink of being torn apart. It was the greatest war in American history and the only war fought on American soil by Americans.

Troy hosts an annual Civil War encampment of this historic event. You are invited to come and share a day of fun with us. Visit the Sutlers and purchase period goods to take home as souvenirs. Stop and speak with President Lincoln. There will be food and drink available throughout the event. This TWO day event is FREE to the public.
