Water Truck Deployed to Assist Impacted Residents

TROY, NY – City officials have announced a water station has been delivered to the Brunswick Walmart, located at 760 Hoosick Street. Potable water will be available to the public affected by the current water outage in the communities of Troy, Brunswick, North Greenbush, and Poestenkill. The public will be required to provide their own water containers.

Oakwood Avenue remains closed between Frear Park Road and Farrell Road in the City of Troy. Motorists are asked to seek alternate routes and observe all detours. Traffic will detour to Frear Park Road to N. Lake Avenue to Liberty Road to Farrell Road. Troy Department of Public Utilities crews remain onsite of the Oakwood Avenue water main break and repair operations are currently ongoing. The city remains in communication with all affected communities and is coordinating with Rensselaer County to respond to the service disruption.

Residents should monitor the city website – www.troyny.gov – and social media accounts (see below) for additional updates on the status of service restoration.
