City of Troy Seeking Proposals to Redevelop Leonard Hospital Site
TROY, NY – Mayor Patrick Madden today announced that the City of Troy has issued an RFP for proposals to redevelop the former Leonard Hospital site. The 7.1 acre site – located in Troy’s historic Lansingburgh neighborhood – will be made available for sale as a shovel-ready project following the anticipated demolition of the structure by the city in 2018.
“The ongoing revitalization of Troy demonstrates the continued interest in our community as a great place to raise a family and start a business,” said Mayor Patrick Madden. “The demolition of the Leonard Hospital property presents a unique opportunity for interested developers to make a real contribution to enhance the landscape of Troy’s Lansingburgh neighborhood and positively shape the future of our city.”
Following the conclusion of the submission period, the City’s Property Disposition Committee will review all submitted proposals and select the developer that provides the best long-term, neighborhood enhancing use of the property with additional consideration to the highest purchase price offer.
Copies of the RFP are available through the City’s Purchasing Office by calling (518) 279-7104. The deadline for submissions is January 31, 2018 at 4:00 pm.
