City Officials Issue Traffic Advisory for Morrison Avenue

TROY, NY – City officials have issued a traffic advisory for Morrison Avenue in the City of Troy, New York for Saturday, May 5, for utility maintenance work near the intersection of Morrison Avenue and Stow Avenue. Beginning 7:30 a.m., the westbound lane of Morrison Avenue will be closed to regular traffic. Eastbound traffic on Morrison Avenue will not be affected.
Northbound traffic on Vandenburgh Avenue (Route 4) which normally utilizes Morrison Avenue westbound (downhill) will be detoured via Mill Street to Burden Avenue (Route 378). Local traffic from Cottage Street will be routed eastbound (uphill) via Morrison Avenue to Hill Street. North and southbound lanes of Stow Avenue will not be affected by the traffic restrictions.
Motorists are also advised to reduce speeds, watch for flaggers & workers in the vicinity of the work zone, and observe all posted traffic detours. Local emergency services have been notified of the traffic restrictions. Work is expected to be completed at approximately 2:00 p.m. The City of Troy thanks the public for their patience at this time while Public Utilities crews operate on Morrison Avenue.
