City Officials Issue Traffic Advisory for River Street

TROY, NY – City officials have issued a traffic advisory for River Street in the City of Troy, New York for Monday, April 30, for public utility maintenance operations. Beginning 8:30 a.m., southbound traffic on River Street between Federal Street and Jacob Street may experience significant delays due to scheduled utility work by the Department of Public Utilities. Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes at this time.

A full road closure is not expected at this time. However, a road closure may be necessary to ensure safety of workers operating in the work zone. If a road closure is initiated, eastbound traffic utilizing the Downtown Troy exit from Hoosick Street (Route 7) will be diverted to Sixth Avenue and Federal Street.

Motorists are also advised to reduce speeds, watch for flaggers & workers in the vicinity of the work zone, and, where applicable, observe all posted traffic detours. Local emergency services have been notified of the traffic restrictions. The City of Troy thanks the public for their patience at this time while Public Utilities crews conduct excavation operations.
