City Officials Issue Update on Leaf Bag Collection for November
TROY, NY – Department of Public Works officials have issued an updated leaf bag collection schedule for November. Leaf bag collection will occur between November 2nd and December 1st, 2020. This schedule is subject to change dependent on weather conditions.
Residents should place leave bags out for pickup during their normal garbage collection day according to the following schedule:
- Week of November 2nd: north of Hoosick Street
- Week of November 9th: south of Hoosick Street.
- Week of November 16th: north of Hoosick Street
- Week of November 23rd: south of Hoosick Street
Please note: due to the Thanksgiving holiday, leaf bag collection scheduled for Thursday November 26th and Friday November 27th will be picked up on November 30th and December 1st.
Leaves must be placed in brown recyclable paper leaf bags. Leaves placed in plastic bags or containing dirt, sand, rocks, sod or any other materials will not be collected. Brush should not be placed in leaf bags. Residents are reminded to not rake leaves into the street. This can block street drainage during rain events and cause flooding.
