Mt. Ida Dam Project

Overview

On September 28, 2018, an emergency engineering inspection identified the Ida Lake Dam as structurally unsound. In compliance with New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) dam safety regulations, the City removed of a section of the dam to alleviate immediate structural concerns. This reduced the Poesten Kill creek water and Belden Pond/ Ida Lake to their natural state.
