Household Hazardous Waste Collection
The City of Troy is partnering with the Towns of East Greenbush and Bethlehem on the first-ever inter-municipal Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) disposal program for 2021. These events, scheduled April, June, August and October, will provide residents of the three municipalities the opportunity to safely dispose of hazardous materials not accepted through normal garbage collection service.
The disposal event is a free service available to residents of these three municipalities only. Residents wishing to participate in the program will need to register for this event online by visiting www.BEThhw.org, click the relevant registration link for their community, create an account, and enter ALL required information. Events are listed below by host municipality. Each event will allow for a limited number of participants to register from all three municipalities. All events are open to residents of all three municipalities, and will be held from 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM on the following dates and locations:
- Bethlehem: April 17th; Town Highway Garage, 74 Elm Avenue East, Selkirk, NY 12158.
- East Greenbush: August 28th; East Greenbush Transfer Station 246 Ridge Road, Rensselaer, NY 12144
- Troy: June 26th, and October 30th; Troy Resource Management Facility (formerly Alamo facility), at the corner of East Industrial Parkway and Main Street, Troy, NY, 12180.
