Mayor: City Accepting Bids for Purchase of City-Owned Foreclosed Properties

TROY, NY (July 20, 2022) – Mayor Patrick Madden today announced the City of Troy is accepting bids for purchase of available city-owned foreclosed properties. A total of 57 properties are available for sale; a full list of available foreclosed properties is posted on the City website,

Mayor Madden said, “The next round of foreclosed properties is now available for public bid. This popular program helps return inactive buildings and empty lots to productive use and stabilize neighborhoods. I encourage interested members of the public to explore the list of available properties available for sale this summer.”

The City Assessors’ Office is accepting proposal applications for any of the available properties. Proposals must be delivered by mail to the Office of the City Assessor, 433 River Street, Ste. 5001, Troy New York 12180 by Monday, August 29th, at 4:00 pm. Proposals can also be delivered in-person with the Assessor’s Office during normal business hours, Monday – Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (excluding holidays).

Please note that individuals or entities with outstanding tax liens or open Code Enforcement violations are ineligible to submit bids. Proposals received from those in this category will not be considered.

An open house event is scheduled for Wednesday, August 3rd. More details on the event will be published when available.
