Mayor Madden Announces Earth Day Neighborhood Cleanup Schedule
TROY, NY – Ahead of Earth Day weekend, Mayor Patrick Madden is encouraging Troy residents to participate in the annual citywide Earth Day neighborhood cleanup program scheduled for Friday, April 20 through Sunday, April 22. The three-day community event brings together residents, families, and business owners to improve community parks, green spaces and neighborhoods across the City. Residents and interested volunteers can join an existing community cleanup project or create a cleanup group of their own.
Mayor Patrick Madden said, “The City’s annual Earth Day cleanup gives residents an opportunity to make a direct and positive impact in their neighborhood. Community involvement is critical to a successful Earth Day, and I encourage our residents to lend a hand this weekend to help keep Troy clean and green this spring.”
More than 18 cleanup projects and activities are planned for Earth Day weekend (April 20 – 22) in dozens of neighborhood locations across the Collar City. To view a full list of neighborhood cleanup projects please visit the City of Troy’s Earth Day page. Free leaf bags will be provided by the City to all participating cleanup groups. Registered groups can pick up leaf bags at the Knickerbacker Ice Rink beginning Tuesday, April 17 through Saturday, April 21, located at 191 103rd Street, between 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
