Mayor Madden Issues Statement on Inauguration of Joseph Biden and Kamala Harris

TROY, NY – Mayor Patrick Madden issued the following statement ahead of the inauguration of Joseph Biden as President and Kamala Harris as Vice President of the United States:

“Today, I join millions of my fellow Americans to witness the inauguration of the 46th President of the United States.  President-Elect Biden and Vice President-Elect Harris enter office under exceedingly difficult circumstances.  Our country faces many serious challenges. Never before have we so desperately needed to find our way back to each other and back to the noble ideals we as a nation profess to cherish.

“Regardless of who you supported in the election, we all need to hope for the best for this new administration, for as they succeed or fail so too do each of us individually and so too does this nation as a whole.

“If you pray, pray.  If you meditate, meditate.  Whatever your efforts to bring more goodness into this world, do an extra measure of it today.  Our country needs us.”
