Mayor Madden issues update on Campbell Avenue sewer line repair
TROY, NY – Mayor Patrick Madden today announced the start of sewer line repair operations at the location of the broken sewer line on Campbell Avenue in the City of Troy. The first length of new sewer pipe was successfully installed by Department of Public Utilities crews shortly after noon Wednesday, February 24. Excavation and repair operations will continue at the site of the broken sewer line. Barring unforeseen circumstances, city officials anticipate completion of sewer repair operations by end of day Friday, February 26.
There is no thru-traffic on Campbell Avenue between Sherman and Donegal Avenues. Eastbound traffic on Campbell Avenue will detour at Sherman Avenue, and westbound traffic will detour at Donegal Avenue. Drivers are asked to seek alternate routes. Businesses in the vicinity of the affected section of Campbell Avenue are open and accessible to regular vehicle traffic.
Local traffic for residents is permitted beyond the traffic detours at Donegal and Sherman Avenues and Troy Police Department traffic & patrol units are continuing to operate on the detour route.
