Mayor Madden: Pop Up City Hall Events with City Treasurer’s Office Begin Friday at Knickerbacker Ice Rink
Property taxes, outstanding bills can be paid in-person during event with City Treasurer’s Office at Knickerbacker Ice Rink on Friday, July 24th, from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
Three additional Treasurer’s Office pop up events scheduled for July 29th, 30th, 31st
2nd Installment of 2020 property taxes is due Friday, July 31st
Payments can also be completed by Check, Money Order via Mail, or Online at www.troyny.gov/pay
City Hall remains closed to the public due to COVID-19 pandemic
TROY, NY – Mayor Patrick Madden today is reminding property owners about upcoming Pop Up City Hall events with the City Treasurer’s Office at the Knickerbacker Ice Rink during the month of July. Due to restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Treasurer’s Office is offering in-person payment options during four special events. The first event is scheduled for Friday, July 24th, from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Mayor Madden said, “As COVID-19 continues to limit public access to City Hall, we are launching our first series of Pop Up City Hall events this summer with the City Treasurer’s Office, part of our ongoing efforts to connect local government with the community. These events will provide property owners who normally visit City Hall to pay taxes and other bills an opportunity to make in-person payments with the Treasurer’s Office in a safe environment at the Knickerbacker Ice Rink. We encourage property owners to participate in the Pop Up City Hall events this July.”
During the events, property owners can pay 2nd installment of property taxes. Water bills, garbage bills, garbage violations and/or bulk trash bills can also be paid during the events. Cash and check payments will be accepted. Credit card payments will not be accepted at the events; these payments must be made online at www.troyny.gov/pay. Deadline for payment of 2nd installment of 2020 property taxes is Friday, July 31st.
Protocols will be in place during the Pop Up City Hall events to protect the health of participants and staff. Individuals attending the event will be required to wear a face covering at all times. Social distancing protocols will be in place. Access to the building will be limited to two (2) payers at a time. Payers will be required to provide contact information upon entering the building and separate payment stations will be available for cash or check.
Property owners are strongly encouraged to bring copies of bills with them for quick processing of payments. Individuals completing cash payments will receive a receipt.
Additional Pop Up City Hall events with the City Treasurer’s Office will be held at the Knickerbacker Ice Rink from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. on the following dates:
- Wednesday, July 29
- Thursday, July 30
- Friday, July 31
Payments can be completed by check or money order via mail or online at www.troyny.gov/pay. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, City Hall remains closed to the public, and in-person payments at City Hall will not be available until further notice.
