TROY, NY (August 23, 2022) – Due to strong public interest, Mayor Patrick Madden today announced the City of Troy will host an additional foreclosed property open house event on Thursday, August 25th. Thirteen city-owned properties will be open for public inspection during two sessions, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m., and 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
Mayor Madden said, “Turnout for our most recent open house event exceeded expectations, a clear indicator that an additional date was needed to ensure interested buyers a chance to view all available city-owned foreclosed properties. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to explore buildings available for purchase in the Collar City.”
Deputy Mayor Chris Nolin said, “The sale of city-owned foreclosed properties helps advance the administration’s efforts to strengthen our neighborhoods and restore vacant or abandoned properties to active use. The next open house event is the latest program that supports neighborhood revitalization and expansion of our tax base, and we’re excited to provide more opportunities to visit available properties through the foreclosure sale process.”
The foreclosed properties open house schedule is as follows:

City staff will be onsite at each property during the event to provide public access. Attendees are asked to bring a flashlight and wear appropriate footwear. Open-toed shoes, sandals and heels are prohibited.
The City Assessors’ Office is accepting proposal applications for any of the available properties. Proposals must be delivered by mail to the Office of the City Assessor, 433 River Street, Ste. 5001, Troy New York 12180 by Monday, August 29th, at 4:00 pm. Proposals can also be delivered in-person with the Assessor’s Office during normal business hours, Monday – Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (excluding holidays).
Please note that individuals or entities with outstanding tax liens or open Code Enforcement violations are ineligible to submit bids. Proposals received from those in this category will not be considered.
