TROY, NY – On Monday, May 1, Mayor Patrick Madden visited Troy-based automotive customization and restoration shop 1945 Speed & Custom to tour the custom car facility located in the City’s burgeoning North Central neighborhood. The visit coincided with National Small Business Week (April 30 – May 6), a nationwide celebration of small business owners and entrepreneurs across the country in recognition of their role in creating local jobs and supporting the local and regional economy.
Mayor Madden was joined by Steven Strichman, Troy Commissioner of Planning and Community Development, and Cheryl Kennedy, Troy Economic Development Coordinator, during a guided tour of 1945 Speed & Custom’s 10,000 sf garage and showroom with owner Jeremy Baye. The company has been operating in the City of Troy for the last five years where they specialize in era-specific modifications and ground-up rebuilds of custom classic cars, hot rods and motorcycles.
