Traffic Advisory Issued for River Street

TROY, NY – City officials have issued a traffic advisory for River Street associated with National Grid utility work near the intersection of Hutton Street and River Street.

Beginning 9:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 21, River Street will be closed southbound from Hoosick Street to King Street. Road closures are expected to remain in effect until 6:00 p.m. Homes and businesses on River Street between Hutton Street and Federal Street will remain open and accessible.

Southbound traffic on River Street (north of Hoosick Street) will be detoured east to Hoosick Street to 6th Avenue. Westbound traffic on Hutton Street will be detoured north at River Street. Northbound traffic on King Street (from Federal Street) will be redirected southbound at the intersection of King Street and River Street, or northbound to 5th Avenue. The Hedley Building parking lot (east) will be accessible from 5th Avenue via King Street.

Motorists are asked to observe posted detours, parking restrictions, watch for flaggers and seek alternate routes during the closure. Local emergency services have been notified of traffic restrictions.
