Troy Officials: City Hall Closed in Observation of Columbus Day

TROY, NY – City officials have announced that Troy City Hall will be closed on Monday, October 9, 2017, in observation of Columbus Day and will reopen on Tuesday, October 10, at 8:30 a.m.

In addition, the city has also announced that there will be no garbage or recycling pickup on Monday, October 9, 2017. Residents who normally receive Monday garbage and recycling pickup should bring their garbage and recycling to the curb on Monday evening for collection on Tuesday, October 10. Any garbage and recycling not collected on Tuesday, October 10, will be picked up on Wednesday, October 11, when the normal garbage collection schedule resumes. City bulk trash pickup will not be available on Monday, October 9.

Troy residents are reminded to keep sidewalks adjacent to their property free of obstacles when placing garbage and recycling bins out for collection to assist those with mobility issues, including the elderly and individuals with disabilities.

Additionally, residents should place bagged leaves out for collection during their regular city garbage collection day. Do not pile leaves at the curb or rake leaves into the street; this can clog sewer catch basins and drains which could cause flooding in your neighborhood during heavy rain events.
