Troy City Hall Closed in Observation of New Year’s Holiday

TROY, NY – City officials have announced that Troy City Hall will be closed on Monday, January 1, 2018, in observation of New Year’s Day and will reopen on Tuesday, January 2, at 8:30 a.m.

The City has also announced there will be no garbage or recycling pickup on Monday, January 1. Residents who normally receive Monday garbage and recycling pickup should place their garbage and recycling curbside on Monday evening for collection on Tuesday, January 2, when normal garbage and recycling collection will resume. Garbage or recycling not collected on Tuesday will be collected during the remainder of the week. Bulk trash pickup will not be available on January 1 or 2.

For additional information on municipal garbage collection, please contact the City of Troy Department of Public Works at (518) 270-4579.

Residents are reminded to keep sidewalks adjacent to their property free of obstacles when placing garbage and recycling bins out for collection to assist those with mobility issues, including the elderly and individuals with disabilities.

Additionally, in the instance of snow, property owners are required to clear sidewalks adjacent to their property by 10:00 a.m. the day following the end of a snow storm. Clearing your sidewalk will keep our community accessible for residents of all ages & abilities and assist first responders during medical emergencies in your neighborhood.
