Troy Officials Issue Updated Traffic Advisories, Parking Restrictions for Street Paving, Summer Events
TROY, NY – City officials have issued updated traffic advisories and parking restrictions for scheduled municipal operations and various special events beginning on Saturday, June 23.
City officials have issued various traffic advisories and parking restrictions associated with special events scheduled throughout the 2018 summer season.
Troy Waterfront Farmers Market
City officials have issued a traffic advisory for River Street, Broadway, and State Street in the City of Troy, New York for the weekly Troy Waterfront Farmers Market. The following streets will be closed between 6:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 23:
River Street, between 3rd Street and State Street
2nd Street between Broadway and State Street
Broadway between 3rd Street and River Street
Parking restrictions will also be in effect for the above streets; drivers should observe all posted parking restrictions. Road closures associated with the outdoor Farmers Market will be in effect every Saturday through October. For more information on this event, please visit www.troymarket.org
The Great Race
City officials have also announced a traffic advisory for parking restrictions associated with The Great Race on Sunday, June 24. The following traffic and parking restrictions will be in effect:
8:00am – 9:00pm
2nd Street between State Street & River Street – Street Closed & No Parking
Broadway between 3rd Street & River Street – Street Closed & No Parking
10:30am – 9:00pm
Front Street Parking Lot & Front Street (Riverfront Park) – Street Closed & No Parking
1:00pm – 9:00pm
River Street between 3rd Street & 1st Street – Street Closed & No Parking
River Street between 1st Street & Congress – Street Closed
1st Street between River & State Street – Street Closed
3:30pm – 9:00pm
River Street between 1st Street & State Street – Street Closed & No Parking
1st Street between River & State Street – Street Closed & No Parking
State Street between River & 2nd Street – Street Closed & No Parking
Motorists are asked to observe all posted traffic detours and seek alternate routes. Local emergency services have been notified of traffic restrictions and road closures. Illegally parked vehicles will be ticketed and towed, both at the owner’s expense.
The City’s Bureau of Streets has issued a traffic advisory for Pawling Avenue for scheduled street paving operations. Beginning Monday, June 25, and continuing on Tuesday, June 26, crews will be paving Pawling Avenue between Blakely Court and Jesse Court. Work will occur between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. each day.
Motorists are asked to reduce speeds, use caution and watch for flaggers while traveling through work zones to ensure the safety of workers, and seek alternate routes where possible. Local emergency services have been notified of traffic restrictions. Paving work will be dependent on weather conditions. The City of Troy thanks everyone for their patience at this time while crews conduct paving operations throughout the summer months.
Seasonal Street Cleaning
The Department of Public Works’ seasonal street cleaning schedule continues this week. The sixteen week street sweeping and debris cleanup program removes dirt, brush, leaves and other items from City roadways that have accumulated over the winter months. The weekly initiative will continue through August 3rd.
Week 11: June 25th to June 29th
Monday, June 25 – 7:00 A.M. to 3:30 P.M.
Even Side: all Streets from Hoosick Street to Sage Avenue, from 8th Street to 17th Street, including Sherry Road, McLeod Road, Eaton Road and 19th Street.
Tuesday, June 26 – Street Cleaning
Wednesday, June 27 – Street Cleaning
Thursday, June 28 – Street Cleaning
Friday, June 29 – 7:00 A.M. to 3:30 P.M
