September 27, 2019 – Troy Police have announced an arrest in their investigation into shots fired near Ingalls and 6th Avenue earlier this month:
“The Troy Police Department has been vigorously investigating the recent spate of violence in the city along with our many law enforcement partners. The shooting at the intersection of Ingalls and 6th Avenue that occurred on September 19th around 6:30PM continues to be investigated and thus far has resulted in the arrest last evening of a juvenile.
The juvenile was found to be in possession of a loaded handgun and has been implicated in taking part in the shooting at Ingalls and 6th Ave. The juvenile was apprehended last evening around 7:45 pm in the area of 101st Street and 5th Avenue. He was transported to Central Station Juvenile Division where he was processed and then transported to juvenile secure detention in Albany. He is currently on parole for a violent offense but with the change in the new laws, he is now considered an adolescent offender for arrest processing.
How the case proceeds will be decided in the Youth Part of Rensselaer County Criminal Court – This arrest was the result of good intelligence, physical evidence and primarily great police work.”
