Troy Police: Search Warrant Leads to Arrests

TROY, NY – Troy Police have issued the following announcement:

“The Troy Police Department is reporting that today around 11:00AM, members of the Troy Police Department Special Operation Section and the NYSP Violent Gang and Narcotics Enforcement Team (VGNET) executed a search warrant at 286 5th Avenue in the Lansingburgh section of Troy. The search warrant yielded two illegal handguns (1 stolen out of Georgia) , over 90 grams of cocaine and nearly $10,000 in US Currency. The search warrant was the result of a joint investigation by the two agencies. Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office and Troy Police Patrol Division assisted in the search warrant execution and arrests. Excellent coordinated police work.

“Two defendants were also arrested and are currently being processed at Troy Police Station.  Both defendants are scheduled to appear in Troy City Court later this afternoon to face weapons charges as well as felony drug charges.

“The Troy Police Department is steadfast in its commitment to keep our community safe and rid the City of illegal guns and drugs.”
