VIDEO: Troy Police Promote Sergeant to Captain

TROY, NY – On Monday, September 27th, the Troy Police Department promoted Det. Sergeant Anthony Conyers, a 17-year veteran with TPD, to the rank of Captain during a ceremony at City Hall. Chief Daniel DeWolf and Mayor Madden presided over the ceremony which was attended by Capt. Conyers’ family, friends, fellow Troy Police officers, and representatives from the Capital Region’s law enforcement community.

Captain Conyers has been with the Troy Police Department since 2004. Born and raised in Troy, he is a graduate of Troy High School and attended HVCC for criminal justice. Conyers is currently assigned to the Detective Bureau.

As Detective Sergeant he has held the positions of Evidence Technician Coordinator, has been assigned to the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force and most recently the Domestic Violence Unit. He is the recipient of several citations, commendation and two Silver Shield awards. Capt. Conyers is married to wife, Sarah, and has 5 children.
