On Thursday, January 11th, the City of Troy welcomed eight new officers to the Troy Police Department. These brave men and women have come from all over to serve our city. Four of the eight were either born or raised in Troy at some point in their lives. Two graduated from Troy High School and two attended Hudson Valley Community College. One is a United States Army Veteran who served in Iraq and Afghanistan. Two are following in the family footsteps and continuing the legacy in law enforcement. One is a former member of the Troy Police Cadet Post and will be working alongside the officers that once mentored him. And one has come to us all the way from Oklahoma City to make Troy her home. We now have 137 sworn officers protecting our city.
