COMMUNITY ADVISORY: Permit Issued for Private Firework Display in Troy on August 26

City News Posted on August 18, 2023

TROY, N.Y. — The City of Troy is advising the community of a private fireworks display in the vicinity of the downtown neighborhood that was granted a permit by the Office of the City Clerk to occur on August 26, 2023 at 9:35 PM. The sponsoring organization that was awarded the permit is Santore's World Famous Fireworks LLC.

“Fireworks displays often celebrate, commemorate and observe important lives and milestones, but can also cause alarm in a community without proper notice” said Mayor Wm. Patrick Madden. “I encourage our neighbors, such as certain veterans and those with pets, to be mindful of their needs and prepare accordingly.”

Professional fireworks displays may cause temporary noise disruptions. Fireworks can be a trauma reminder for those who have survived certain kinds of violence. Review tips for dealing with fireworks at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs website.
