TROY, NY – The City of Troy is seeking candidates to serve on the Police Objective Review Board. This is a volunteer position with meetings that occur once per month and intermittent trainings. Individuals who are interested in serving on the Board may submit their names for consideration to the Board via one of the methods indicated below. Applicants should include a resume and written statement as to why they would like to volunteer on the committee. Applicants must live within the city limits.
The goals of the Police Objective Review Board are to improve communication between the police department and the community, to increase accountability and credibility with the public, and to create a complaint review process that is free from bias and informed of actual police practices. The Police Objective Review Board is seeking innovative candidates with ideas that would foster the Board’s goals and increase the efficacy of the Board.
Resumes and statements will be reviewed by the Police Objective Review Board and recommendations will be sent to the Mayor.
