Mayor Mantello Announces $300,000 ARPA Investment for Upgrades to Kinloch Park

TROY, NY – Mayor Carmella Mantello today announced a major investment of $300,000 in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds to revitalize Kinloch Park. Additionally, the Mantello Administration upon taking office in January 2024, immediately took decisive action to fix the long-standing drainage which has plagued the park for nearly , ensuring that it remains a safe, enjoyable space for residents year-round.

“For far too long, Kinloch Park has faced persistent challenges that have limited its full potential. Today, we are taking real action—not temporary, band-aid solutions—to enhance this vital community space,” said Mayor Mantello. “This $300,000 investment ensures that all children, regardless of ability, have the opportunity to enjoy modern, inclusive play equipment while also addressing long-overdue infrastructure needs.”

The park upgrades are part of the Mantello Administration’s broader commitment to improving the quality of life for all Troy residents. By prioritizing comprehensive, long-term solutions, the city is delivering meaningful improvements that enhance public spaces, promote accessibility, and support neighborhood vitality.

“Our administration is dedicated to tackling issues head-on, not kicking them down the road,” Mayor Mantello added. “This investment in Kinloch Park is yet another example of our commitment to making Troy a city where every resident has access to safe, clean, and well-maintained public spaces. Kinloch is the only city owned park that is available to the East Side of the city. It has been a priority in my administration to ensure this beautiful space is revitalized and used to its full potential.”

While construction to fix the drainage issues have already begun, the city plans to schedule a neighborhood meeting to receive public input on the future amenities that will be placed at the park. The city will provide updates and the date for the neighborhood meeting in the near future.
